Games to teach Prepositions

                              Games to teach prepositions

  • Acting out - one student comes in front of the class and ask him/her to act out the preposition. (eg:- sitting under the table, jumping over a box etc. ) and ask others to guess it.

  • Giving instructions to draw a picture using prepositions. ( eg: draw a tree near the house, draw a fence around the garden etc..)
  •  Teacher divides the students into small groups and give a list of ten prepositions to each. Then asks the teams how many sentences that they can make correctly using them. If they able to write the number of sentences they said they could score that number of points. ( eg: if one group makes 10 correct sentences they can get 10 points.) But if a group does not get the number they said they would, they get zero points.
  •  Teacher divides the class into small groups and distributes picture cards to each group. Then teacher asks each groups to make sentences as much as possible. The group that has most number of accurate sentences within the given limited time will be the winner.Create 10 clues. Separate the students into small groups and give the first clue to each group. Give instructions to read clue together and find other clues hidden to find the treasure

eg: walk along the road. You will see a statue near the main gate. You can find the second clue under the flower vase.
